Designer Julia’s favourite way to get around Calcutta is by tuk-tuk. Fast and open and entirely present in the city, it is the kind of travel that gets into your clothes — the colour, the noise, the fabric stalls, the dye vats, the heat. 

The Evening Shirt is what you wear when a city like that has changed the way you see things.


Garment description (cream)

Cut from a cream cotton poplin, the Evening Shirt has a bib and collar cut as one piece, with fine pintucks running down the front.

The hem is higher at the front and longer at the back, with side slits for ease of movement. The French cuff turns back and fastens with a single button. Wear it tucked, untucked, under a pinafore or over trousers.
